A large majority of alarm systems are the same, the main unit just sits there doing very little and waiting for a trigger signal to alarm. If a fault develops with a sensor or detector you may never know about it. The danger with this is that your system may not alarm when you need it the most.
A Homesecure system will let you know the instant there is a problem as the main unit monitors all the sensors and detectors and will report any problems.
Think of the alarm base unit as a ‘Parent’ and all detectors and sensors as its ‘children’. The ‘Parent’ unit sends out a ‘is everything ok’ signal to each of its ‘children’ in turn. If one of the ‘children’ has a fault, eg Battery Low, the next time the ‘Parent’ asks is everything ok the ‘Child’ will report back ‘No, the Battery is low’. The main unit will then display on the main screen that that particular sensor has a low battery and will chime at regular intervals to make the user aware of the problem. The user can then clear the fault and replace the battery at a convenient time.
Some wireless systems can be ‘Jammed’ by a determined criminal. A Homesecure system will detect any attempt to disrupt its signals and will alarm instantly.
Every detector and sensor manufactured has a different code. This ensures that different systems in close proximity cannot effect each other. There are over 16 million codes for each type of sensor.
Remote keyfobs use the latest technology ‘code hopping’. This ensures that a determined criminal cannot ‘grab’ the code and copy it to unset the system.
